Katie Sheridan is a young British actress who has worked in both television and theatre. She is probably best known as Sophie Norton in the successful Children's series Genie in the House, currently in its 3rd season on the Nickelodeon Channel, with a total of 78 episodes to its credit. The popular show has also been sold to over a hundred countries world wide.
Katie grew up in Berkshire and has been singing and dancing since she was 5 years old. She was a member of the award winning Berkshire Girls Choir. She also belonged to the Babette Langford Young Set, entertaining at many fund raising events for charities such as the Variety Club, Make a Wish Foundation and The Diabetic Society. She also recorded a cinema fund raising advert for the Variety Club.
At the age of 13 Katie joined the Jackie Palmer Agency and got her first television role in Cracking The Killers Code, part of The Real Crime Series for Granada Television. Her other television credits include: Rachel Graham in Brief Encounters, Lizzie in If, Teenage girl in Lovesoup, Becky Eastwood in Casualty, Sarah in Waking The Dead, Sam Ryan in The Powers Project and Becky in In2Minds, all for the BBC.
Katie also played the part of Young Grace in the feature film Lighthouse Hill for Carnaby Films. She also enjoys presenting and hosted the live series METV for Nickelodeon.
Katie's theatre credits include Cinderella and Dick Whittington (chorus), Raphaella in Lanza the Last Serenade all at Wimbledon Theatre and Dick Whittington, The Musical at Sadlers Wells. In 2007 Katie played Princess Aurora in Sleeping Beauty at The Hazlitt Theatre, Maidstone. Returning to Pantomime in 2009, Katie played Lucy Locket in Robinson Crusoe at Worthing's Connaught Theatre.
Katie has recently graduated from Middlesex University with a degree in Theatre Arts (Performance).
